Day 1 – Discovering the Heritage of Dhaka
Welcome to Dhaka, the vibrant capital of Bangladesh and the country’s political, economic, and cultural heart. One of the world’s great megacities, Dhaka is a place of remarkable contrasts, where grand modern architecture, Mughal heritage, colonial history, and the energy of daily life all come together in a fascinating urban landscape.
Today’s journey begins with an outside view of the iconic National Parliament Building, one of the most celebrated architectural landmarks in South Asia. Designed by the world-renowned American architect Louis I. Kahn, this monumental structure stands as a symbol of national identity and modern design.
We then continue to Kawran Bazar, one of the city’s most important wholesale trading hubs, where the rhythm of commerce and the intensity of everyday Dhaka life can be felt at every turn. From there, we visit Dhaka University, founded in 1921, whose historic campus and British-era buildings reflect the nation’s intellectual and cultural legacy.
The day continues in Old Dhaka with a visit to Lalbagh Fort, the unfinished Mughal fort complex begun in 1678. With its elegant gateways, gardens, and layered history, it remains one of the city’s most treasured landmarks. We then visit Dhakeshwari Temple, the National Temple of Bangladesh and one of the most sacred Hindu sites in the country, followed by the beautifully decorated Star Mosque, celebrated for its remarkable mosaic work and historic charm.
Later, we explore the Armenian Church, a graceful reminder of Dhaka’s multicultural past, before visiting the famous Ahsan Manzil, also known as the Pink Palace, once the residence of the Nawabs of Dhaka and now a historic museum. To end the day, we enjoy a memorable boat ride on the Buriganga River, where the busy waterways, riverside activity, and views of old shipyard points reveal another unforgettable side of the capital.

Day 2 – River Life of Barisal and the Heritage Mosques of Bagerhat
This morning, the ferry arrives in Barisal, where the day begins with a journey into one of the most peaceful and visually distinctive river landscapes in Bangladesh. From Barisal, we travel to Banaripara Ferry Ghat, located around 35 kilometers from the city, and begin a boat trip through the waterways that define the region’s way of life.
As we move through the rivers and canals, we explore the famous floating vegetable market and the floating timber market, where traders conduct business directly from wooden boats. These floating markets offer a rare and authentic glimpse into the riverside lifestyle of southern Bangladesh. Surrounded by beautiful villages, calm waterways, and warm local hospitality, this part of the journey is rich in both scenery and cultural experience.
After the river excursion, we continue to Bagerhat, often called the mosque city of Bangladesh, a place of immense historical and architectural significance. Here, we visit the magnificent Sixty Dome Mosque, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest surviving examples of Sultanate-era architecture in Bengal. Built in the 15th century by Khan Jahan Ali, this extraordinary mosque is celebrated for its massive structure, rows of stone pillars, and timeless beauty.

Day 3 – Sundarbans Nature and Traditional Otter Fishing
Today’s journey brings you closer to the extraordinary natural world of the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest on Earth, and one of Bangladesh’s greatest treasures. The day begins with a visit to a Sundarbans community village, where you can observe the simple, resilient lifestyle of the people living on the edge of this remarkable ecosystem.
We then continue to Karamjol, one of the most popular visitor points in the Sundarbans and an important introduction to the mangrove environment. Known for its wildlife center and crocodile breeding facilities, Karamjol offers the chance to walk through mangrove surroundings, observe deer and monkeys, and enjoy the calm atmosphere of the forest waterways. It is one of the best places to experience the Sundarbans’ unique character on a short visit.
Later, we witness one of the most unusual and culturally valuable traditions of rural Bangladesh: otter fishing. Practiced by only a small number of fishing families today, this centuries-old method uses trained otters to help herd fish into nets. It is a rare and fascinating example of the close relationship between humans, animals, and traditional livelihood practices.
After completing the day’s exploration, we begin the return journey to Dhaka, carrying with us memories of heritage, river life, ancient architecture, and the natural wonder of the Sundarbans.
